A-11 Section 300

Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers (FAC-P/PM) - Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers (FAC-P/PM) was established to ensure general training and experience requirements for program and project managers are clearly identified for civilian agencies. The FAC-P/PM focuses on essential competencies needed for program and project managers; the program does not include functional or technical competencies, such as those for information technology, or agency-specific competencies. Defense agencies have a similar certification program under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Agencies must be compliant with FAC-P/PM starting in FY 2008. Available levels are Entry/Apprentice, Mid/Journeyman and Expert/Advanced for FAC-P/PM and 1, 2 and 3 for DAWIA.
